The story that Dual Family is telling is rather hard to talk about as you get to name many of the characters and their relationship to the two main characters. This is a very good idea in theory, but it can make parts of the story make no sense at all and as a result, I had a really hard time following what was going on with certain characters. This is a real shame as the idea of the game is that a husband and wife are coming to the end of their marriage and you supposedly get to shape the way they deal with this and how they move on with their lives. It is a very interesting premise and I feel that they needed to take more control here to make the story more coherent.

The marriage coming to an end is a hard thing to take and the game lets you play as either the father or the son. I think this is a good idea in theory, but the execution leaves a great deal to be desired. The UI is not the best and even starting the game where you need to name the characters is way harder than it needs to be. Dual Family is one of those games that starts off on the wrong foot. The choices you make are strange too as the writing is very odd with many spelling errors and strange situations where words repeat for no reason at all. I started to make random choices just trying to get to the next sex scene as I lost all interest in the story due to how poorly it was put across.

While I may not have been blown away by the execution of the story or the way the game actually plays. A visual novel can sometimes skate by on its looks alone and Dual Family comes close to doing that. I liked the more realistic look that they went for in this game and some of the female characters are very easy on the eyes.
